Aanchal Home
A home where rescued and vulnerable girls are raised with love. They live here, go to school, share their meals and train in self‑defence, growing up together as one family.
Shiv Karmsthali Social Welfare Society works for girls in Indore through two programmes: Aanchal Home, where rescued and vulnerable girls are raised, schooled and cared for, and Yodha, which trains girls from across the city in self‑defence.
Two programmes, one promise: every girl we work with, at Aanchal Home or in Yodha training, is met with protection, warmth and dignity.

Life at Aanchal HomeSome girls need a home. Others need the skills and confidence to protect themselves. Shiv Karmsthali offers both.

A home where rescued and vulnerable girls are raised with love. They live here, go to school, share their meals and train in self‑defence, growing up together as one family.

Self‑defence training for girls from across Indore, who join from their own homes and schools. With our coaches and partner institutes they learn karate, judo, tae‑kwondo and kushti, and compete in championships.
Shiv Karmsthali Social Welfare Society (SKSWS) is a non‑profit registered under the Firms and Societies Act of 1973, established in 2017 to welcome vulnerable, abandoned or orphaned children and adolescents — helping transform their lives from a mere pursuit of safety and survival into ones capable of fulfilling, active participation in society.
Provide vulnerable girls with emotional, physical and educational support — and a genuinely safe place to call home.
A world where no child is limited by background or circumstance — where every girl grows into a confident, resilient adult.
Aanchal Home is currently home to 25+ rescued and at‑risk girls. Every resident is met first with medical care and emotional support, then eased into a disciplined daily rhythm built around nourishment, movement, schooling and rest.
Shelter & medical care — a secure home, nutritious daily meals, and ongoing health checkups from day one.
Mentorship — older girls guide and support younger residents, building an internal support network.
Self‑reliance — daily routines and life‑skills built to prepare every girl for an independent future.
The name comes from the aanchal, the sheltering fold of a mother’s sari: the protection, warmth and dignity every girl here is given.
Yodha is our self‑defence programme for girls from across Indore. They join from their own homes and schools, and train through regular classes run by our coaching staff and partner institutes.
Regular classes — karate, judo, tae‑kwondo and kushti (traditional wrestling), taught by trained coaches.
Partner institutes — training with partner schools and sports academies, alongside our own coaching staff.
Confidence & safety — safe/unsafe‑touch awareness and the self‑belief to speak up.
Championships — Yodha girls compete and win at events including the First Girls Open Karate Championship and the Mahila Madhya Pradesh Yodha Kushti Championship, both organised by Shiv Karmsthali.
Across Aanchal Home and Yodha, our work rests on four pillars.
For girls at Aanchal Home: enrollment in good schools plus after‑school tutoring in Maths, English and Hindi, supported by volunteers and student interns.
Judo and kushti (traditional wrestling) build discipline and strength; karate and tae‑kwondo round out our self‑defence curriculum.
Safe/unsafe‑touch awareness, resilience training and peer mentorship build confidence that lasts well beyond the training hall.
Volunteers join as Explorers, Promoters or Supporters — extending our work in gender equality advocacy across Indore.

Watch on InstagramShiv Karmsthali Social Welfare Society (SKSWS) is a non‑profit organization registered under the Firms and Societies Act of 1973.
The organization was established in 2017 with a singular intention of welcoming vulnerable, abandoned or orphaned children and adolescents into nurturing and motherly‑affectionate care. Shiv Karmsthali Social Welfare Society not only ensures easy access to essential resources for these children but also their holistic well‑being. The aim is to help transform their lives from a mere pursuit of safety and survival into ones capable of fulfilling, active participation in society.
In 2026, which is our ninth year of steady and impactful service, we have been fortunate to reach over 100 children through training programs on effective tactics of self‑defense as well as safe and unsafe touch. We have been instrumental in the restoration and support of more than 200 children in dire need of the same.
In addition to this, the most proud and palpable fruit of our work is the Aanchal Home, bubbling with the energy and vibrancy of over 25 young girls, who were not only timely rescued out of varying degrees of vulnerability but also provided with apt medical treatment and emotional comfort. The humbling fact that these girls have become a seamless and thriving family of their own perpetuates and strengthens our commitment to the cause.
Some girls need a home. Others need the skills and confidence to protect themselves. Shiv Karmsthali offers both.

Aanchal Home gives girls a home; Yodha gives girls across Indore the skills to protect themselves. Both rest on education, strength, life skills and community.
Aanchal Home is a residential home for rescued and vulnerable girls. The girls live here full‑time: they are raised and cared for, go to school, share their meals and attend self‑defence classes, with older girls looking out for the younger ones.
Shelter & care — a safe home, nutritious daily meals and regular health checkups from day one.
Schooling — every girl is enrolled in a good local school, with after‑school tutoring in Maths, English and Hindi.
Self‑defence — regular classes in karate, judo and kushti build strength and discipline.
Family life — mentorship from older girls, festivals, outings and a daily routine shared together.
The name comes from the aanchal, the sheltering fold of a mother’s sari: the protection, warmth and dignity every girl here is given.
Yodha brings self‑defence training to girls from across Indore, who join from their own homes and schools. Through regular classes with our coaching staff and partner institutes, girls learn to protect themselves, and many go on to compete.

Education & Tuitions — every girl at Aanchal Home is enrolled in a good local school, with after‑school tutoring in Maths, English and Hindi run by volunteers and student interns, so schooling never falls behind home life.
Sports & Self‑Defence — Judo and kushti (traditional wrestling) build discipline and physical strength, while karate and tae‑kwondo complete a self‑defence curriculum girls train in year‑round, including at competitive tournaments.
Life Skills & Mentorship — safe/unsafe‑touch awareness, resilience training and peer mentorship build confidence in every girl, with older girls at Aanchal Home guiding the younger ones.

Shiv Karmsthali Social Welfare Society was registered in 2017 to welcome vulnerable, abandoned and at‑risk girls — ensuring every child has access to shelter, schooling, healthcare and a genuine chance at an independent, dignified future.
To provide vulnerable, abandoned and at‑risk girls with a safe home, quality education, healthcare and emotional support — and to prepare each girl, through discipline, mentorship and self‑defence training, to become a confident, self‑reliant adult.
A world where no child's future is limited by the circumstances of her birth — where every girl we work with grows into a resilient, educated, and empowered woman able to shape her own life.
A secure home, nutritious meals and consistent medical care from day one.
Enrollment in good schools plus dedicated after‑school tutoring.
Judo, Karate, Tae‑Kwondo and Kushti build discipline and self‑defence.
Every girl is treated with the respect and warmth an aanchal represents.
Nine years in, these are our priorities for the road ahead.
Expand residential capacity so more rescued and at‑risk girls can be welcomed into safe, family‑style care.
Extend Yodha's self‑defence and safe/unsafe‑touch training into more government schools across Indore.
Keep girls who grow up at Aanchal Home connected, so they can mentor and support the next generation.
Formalise donation and accounting systems — digital receipts, transparent bookkeeping and 80G compliance — so every contribution is easy to trace.
Grow ties with local schools, hospitals and sports academies to widen access to quality education, healthcare and competitive training.

Our karate team travelled to compete at the 3rd IMAS World Karate Championship, returning with medals and a huge boost of confidence for every girl who took part.

Girls trained through Yodha took to the podium in karate and judo at a Shiksha Shikhar Sports Academy tournament — proof that our self‑defence training builds real competitive strength.

Whenever a tournament calls, the whole team travels together — a reminder that these trips are as much about teamwork and exposure as they are about medals.

An educational outing gave our girls a hands‑on look at India's defence history — part of our effort to widen their world beyond the classroom and the dojo.

Every 15th August, the girls raise the tricolour together at Aanchal Home — one of the year's proudest, loudest mornings.

Regular community gatherings bring volunteers, donors and well‑wishers together with the girls — the network of support that makes Aanchal Home possible.
Support shelter, schooling and self‑defence training directly, by UPI or bank transfer.
Shelter & care — helps cover housing, meals and medical care for resident girls.
Education — goes towards school fees, books and tutoring support.
Self‑defence training — funds Judo, Karate, Tae‑Kwondo and Kushti coaching.
